However, are you aware that a 500 dollar bill once existed in the US currency? It is actually one of the highest denomination bills ever existed in the field of US currency.
The 500 dollar bill was first printed in the year 1928. It has a portrait of the late President William McKinley who is the twenty fifth president of the USA. Unfortunately, the circulation of the said dollar bill was halted by the Federal Reserve System and the Department of the Treasury on the 14th day of July, 1969. This is because of the fact that the 500 dollar bill and other large denomination dollar bills were most of the time being counterfeited and were also being used in drug trafficking. Thus, the Federal Government has arrived at a decision to eliminate the use of five hundred dollar bills in the money circulation in the USA.
Indeed, a 500 dollar bill has once existed in the US currency. It has been used by many Americans to finance some of their needs. Nevertheless, its circulation was halted due to some valid reasons. In this regard, you can now no longer see a 500 dollar bill in the market being used nowadays.
